USMC Fine Original Vintage 1950s US Marine Corps SNAKE BITE KIT
Probably from Camp Pendleton or USMC Air Station Mojave
This is an absolutely authentic US Marine Corps issued snake bite kit that we bought from an estate along with the two matchbook covers that you see in our pictures.  There is no doubt in my mind that the kit came from USMC Air Station Mojave rather than Camp Pendleton because of the training provided at those two bases.  At least 32 USMC squadrons are thought to have trained at Marine Corps Auxiliary Station Mojave, and a number of squadrons were actually formed there, including VMF-225 flying F4U-1 Corsairs in January 1943.  it was used throughout the 1950s and the area is full of nasty snakes.
The kit is complete and in very good condition, probably never used.  A nice obscure piece of Desert Warfare equipment, exactly as shown.
