    and renowned
    tonewood
    that has excellent stability properties but misunderstood at times.
    Botanically Spanish Cedar is a member of the mahogany tree family and is claimed to be a much more consistent wood in terms of density, weight, and tone coloration than
    Mahogany
    .
    This bookmatched top has been dyed completely black then sanded back but leaving the darker wood veins.  Then I applied a coat medium amber lacquer such that you can appreciate the striping.
    These tiger stripped Spanish Cedar guitar tonewoods will make a great guitar sonically and visually.
