    Description

    This hand made Murano glass rubenio parakeet was made by Formia for the Hamilton Collection Exotic Birds of the World, a limited ediition of 7500. The series, composed of 8 different birds, was launched in 1984. The bird is approximately 10 3/8 inches tall (the height of the 8 birds vary, presumably based on the natural relative differences in the sizes of the birds as well as normal variances in hand made glass. The bird is cranberry cased in clear except for the beak which is an opaline white. The Formia and Made in Murano labels are no longer attached. The bird is in excellent used condition-no chips, cracks or scratches (even almost no shelf wear to the base). The only thing of note are some very tiny bits of ash under the bird’s chin. They are not visible. Bits of ash in Murano hand made glass is a normal occurrence.
