Pau Rosa Characteristics
Generally easy to work with both hand and machine tools. This wood turns well and produces a high polish. The grain tends to be wavy or interlocked. Medium to fine uniform texture with a high natural luster. Pau Rosa is one of only a handful of woods that have the potential of being nearly rainbow colored, reminiscent of Tulipwood or Canarywood.
Color Range
Heartwood tends to vary in color from a pink or yellow to a darker reddish brown. White to pale sapwood clearly demarcated from heartwood. Will darken with age.
