    Description

    Koch's Beer "I'm a Swinger" 1966 Advertising Campaign Button - Dunkirk NY
You are bidding on an advertising button / pin-back from Koch's Brewery from Dunkirk, NY.
It is 2" in diameter, and in very nice condition.
It advertises "I'm a Swinger", which is a slogan the brewery used in 1966-67.
    History:
The Koch's brewery opened in 1888 and brewed beer, ale and porter.  They survived prohibition by making soda pop, while many other breweries folded during this era.
Koch's was "The tiny little brewery, where real beer was made" that was absorbed by a larger (Genesee) brewery ending a brewing tradition that Dunkirk, NY enjoyed for over 100 years!
It was one of the thousands of small community brewers that dotted the landscape and then disappeared in the face of competition from the major breweries.
Today these little companies would be called micro-breweries and they would be experiencing a resurgence. Since the brewery closed memorabilia has continued to become harder to find.
