    GORGEOUS Gold/Silver Murano Glass Hummingbird/Cockatoo in EXCELLENT/MINT Condition. I believe this bird was once perched on a glass limb (that is why I included the side by side picture) but now I have it laying horizontal. The glass technique used for this piece is called Massello. this process appeared in Murano for the first time in the late 20's thanks to Flavio Poli. BEAUTIFUL work of Art!

    This kind of cockatoo are highly intelligent, inquisitive birds who appreciate a well-ordered life style. This sculpture is perfect for those who loves animals, nature and hot weather.
    The tecnique use is the
    Massello,
    which means that the piece is full, processed under heat by modelling a block of glassy mass applied over the tip of a metal rod. This process appeared in Murano for the first time in the late 20s thanks to Flavio Poli at the I.V.A.M. furnace of Libero Vitali's where he designed the first figures in full or massello glass.
