ERCOLE BAROVIER & TOSO ORANGE GOLD ABORIGENI VASE MURANO ART GLASS **AS FOUND**

Description

Rare Murano glass vase designed by Ercole Barovier for Barovier & Toso from the Aborigeni series circa 1954.  Unfortunately, this vase has a damaged area along the rim and is being sold AS IS.  There is a damaged, exposed area along the edge of the rim approximately 1.75 inches in length.  You can see a dark line within the exposed area that has accumulated over the years.  The area also appears to have been polished.  Also, the original label has a piece of tape over it (see close up pictures).
The vase is 5 inches in height, approximately 6 inches wide and it weighs 2 pounds 6.2 ounces.  Still, it is a very beautiful vase and displays well.  I found a few examples from the Aborigeni series but none in this color or form.  You can see several examples in the
book "art of the Barovier" edited by marina Barovier, on pages 164 & 165.
