    Most of this Tulipwood contains small checks and surface cracks.  And like the majority of my Kingwood, the larger the chuck of wood the larger the crack and checks.  Please examine the photo carefully to see if you can use these items for your projects.

    Tulipwood Characteristics
    A stunning beautiful hardwood in short supply.  The tree is only found in a narrow geographical area, and it's small enough to be considered a shrub typically yielding very small narrow boards. Because of these limitations its usually reserved for very small turnings accent pieces. Pores are open and medium sized, usually straight grain with a fine texture.  A Heavy and Hard wood with fine texture and moderate workability.
    Brazilian tulipwood gives off one of the best rosewood scents when worked its color and texture is unmistakable.
    Color Range
    Pale pink to bright Red, to a deep red.  Streaks of  Cream/white and orange and yellow.
    Other Names
    Tulipwood, do not confuse this with American Tulipwood.
