    Asian Ebony Characteristics
    Usually straight grained fine texture and very high natural luster.  A Heavy and Hard wood with a moderate workability.  It is very similar in characteristics to macassar ebony and comes from Borneo.

    Heartwood is medium brown with a sometimes reddish hue, commonly jet-black with occasional brown streaks.
