    Description

1937-1938 Buick 1935-1938 Pontiac NOS voltage regulator 1118315
    Product Description
NOS genuine GM Delco voltage regulator, part number 1118315.
GM kept updating technology in their products, and this is a perfect example.
1118315 is shown in parts books for:
    1937 - 1938 Buick Special, Century, Roadmaster and Limited (Series 40, 60, 80 and 90)
    1935 - 1938 Pontiac EIGHT
    1935 - 1937 Pontiac SIX
What makes this a perfect example is explained by the usage by Buick. 1937 Buicks started out using Delco regulator 5807. Then they used regulator 5808. These were 5 terminal regulators.
Around 1939 or so, Delco introduced 1118213, to take the place of 5808, but 1118213 was a 4 terminal regulator. The 5th terminal on 5808 was a lead to the ignition switch, which they determined to no longer be useful (?), and instructions were given to cut off the lead, tape the end and tape it to the harness. The 1118213 is also listed as a "dust-proof" regulator, indicating that previous versions weren't?
Sometime in 1949, Delco revamped their line of regulators again, and most of the regulators with part number ending in the 200 series were converted over to part numbers in the 300 series. Thus, you have 1118213 being supplanted by 1118315. I find this part number for the first time in a January 1, 1950 Buick Master Chassis Parts book, but was not in the Januray 1, 1949 version of the same book, which still shows 1118213. I have both of those books in my library. It is also in a 1953 version, but by the 1954 version, Buick had dropped the coverage on voltage regulators for any cars before 1940, so it doesn't show in 1954. The numbers in the 1950 version for the 1939 regulator and 1940-1948 regulator also show new 300 part numbers from the old 200 numbers.
Brand new, still in original GM Delco container, never installed. Obviously, this part number regulator isn't numbers-matching original to the 1937-1938 Buicks, but it is designed for those cars, and made by the original manufacturer.

    Shipping - Payment
A few words to make things easier.
    1. Combined shipping for multiple auctions is always available, but when the auction is over, you will have to wait until I revise things in my eBay "paperwork" to create just one invoice for all your purchased auctions.  And I have to do the revising
    BEFORE
you pay.  If auctions are paid separately (i.e. before you receive my invoice combining items), eBay will no longer then let me combine them on one invoice.
    AND
, eBay then automatically charges you separate shipping charges for each item, which is not refunded.  Again, this is eBay's set-up.  Combining auctions benefits you by saving you shipping and handling fees.
    2. Payment is expected within 3 days.  After 8 days, I will file with eBay to have my auction fees refunded.  If there is a problem with 3 days, please let me know, as I am not unreasonable, and I know that things happen.  Just be aware that having been on eBay full-time for several years has already afforded me an opportunity to hear a lot of "creative" stories.
    Thanks for your bid.
